
The C shape (or U shape) manganin shunt resistor has two more copper lugs than normal EBW alloy shunt, which makes it easy to assemble by screwing. For some applications, like electronic energy meters, we replace the copper lugs by brass blocks and provide customers terminal block shunts. For AC measurement, the C shape shunt can be replaced by a current transformer which is relatively more expensive, but can provide safe galvanic separation. We can make the surface tin/silver/nickel plated to make the shunt more durable.
Our shunts have rated current of wide-range, from small C type shunt of a few amperes to U shape high current shunt of more than 200A for high power use. Spot welded manganin plate is the basic form of C shape shunt, but we can also provide copper lugs brazed EBW shunts, stamped U shape shunts, or other structures. Usually, these shunts have mountable holes which can be screwed with the circuit, but we can also design and manufacture shunt with terminal lug fixing or other install methods.
With more than 15 years’ experience, we can design shunts with complicated structure and measurement error, and we can easily control the resistance value under the tolerance of 3%. Due to our high-power electron-beam welding machines and high-speed stamping machines, we can make these shunt resistors by very low cost for large-scale production.
